Rajendra for better coordination between security agencies

SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has called for greater coordination among all law enforcing agencies to ensure security and law and order in summer capital and other parts of the valley during summer season.
Rajendra was chairing a high level meeting held at Police Control Room (PCR) here this evening. The meeting was attended by senior officers from police, para-military forces and intelligence and was convened to take stock of security, law and order and traffic arrangements in summer capital, district headquarters and other tourist destinations in the Valley.
Addressing the meeting, Rajendra stressed upon the officers to enhance joint coordination among all security agencies and ensure security of important installations, maintaining of law and order and smooth plying of traffic in cities and towns across the Valley during the summer season.
During the meeting, the DGP sought reports from the officers present in the meeting about the security measures put in place by the different security agencies.
He was briefed about the steps taken with regard to providing security to the important installations, civil secretariat, other moving offices, hotels and residential houses of VIPs and the moving employees.
The meeting also reviewed in threadbare the traffic plan in summer capital, other routes leading to the district headquarters and tourist destinations.
It was told that additional manpower has been deployed to ensure smooth regulation of traffic in cities and towns in the valley. He stressed to gear up the traffic cops deployed in different areas to bring tangible results.
He asked the supervisory officers to make lower subordinates accountable for visible improvement in their jurisdictions and shortages of sources should not hamper our efforts. He emphasized to bring more awareness among the road users through the publicity in print and electronic media about the efforts made by traffic police for implementation of traffic rules, besides the benefits of traffic measures to be adopted.
He said that the working of traffic police is being monitored at PHQ level and any laxity by any officer would be viewed seriously.
Among others the meeting was attended by IsGP, S.J.M Gillani, Jagjit Kumar, Sunil Kumar and S.A Watali, IG CRPF, Atul Karwal and Nalin Prabhat, JD IB, Hameet Singh, DIG, G.H Bhat, SSsP, Amit Kumar, Maqsood-ul-Zaman, Javaid Koul, R.K Jalla, Vivek Gupta and all district Senior Superintendents of Police of Kashmir Zone and other police officers.
