REASI: Police on Thursday arrested a woman and recovered 5000 litres Lahan from her house and destroyed it on the spot.
According to a report, a specific information was received by Reasi Police that one lady Kamlesh Kour wife of Avtar Singh resident of village Jambri District Reasi indulging in manufacturing of illicit liquor.
On this information, a police party led by Mohan Lal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi along with Inspector Dalip Singh, SHO Police Station Reasi and SI Ved Parkash, In-Charge Police Post Talwara rushed to the spot and conducted a raid in her house and seized running Desi Liquor distillery along with 10 litres of illicit liquor and all material for preparation of the same from her house. About 5,000 liters Lahan has also been recovered and destroyed on spot, which was hidden by the accused lady on the banks of Chenab River nearby her house. The accused Kamlesh Kour was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 62/2016 under section 48-e Excise Act was registered against her at Police Station Reasi.
