Blacktop Jammu West roads or face consequences: JWAM

JAMMU: A large number of residents and traders from the Jammu West Constituency took out a protest rally on the Amphalla- Newplot- Janipur Road under the leadership of Sunil Dimple President Jammu West Assembly Movement against the ERA, PWD(R&B) and JMC for the worst condition of Sarwal, New Plot, Rehari, Rajpura Mangotrian, Bakshi Nagar, Talab Tillo and all the roads of West Assembly constituency. Protesters raised slogans against the government and demanded resignation from the sitting MLA of the constituency for dismal development of constituency.
Addressing the protestors, Sunil Dimple alleged that no development is taking place in the Jammu city, particularly in the West Assembly Constituency, where all the development has come to grinding halt.
Dimple said all the roads connecting Sarwal, Rehari, New Plot of the constituency are badly damaged, emit dust which has damaged the show rooms, merchandise worth crores of rupees and also causing dust pollution giving rise to breathing problems among the people.
Dimple served one week’s ultimatum to the ERA, PWD(R&B), JMC and the BJP-PDP Government that if the black topping of all the west constituency roads is not completed by 15th May, then a Jan Andolan ( mass agitation) will be started.
Dimple urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to start the construction of flyovers at Rehari Chungi, Jewel Chowk. He also demanded construction of alternative four way circular road from Amphalla Manda to High Court Janipur to Roop Nagar, to Bantalab, Jewel Chowk to Talab Tillo via Bhagwati Nagar and widening of the Jewel Chowk to Purkhu Akhnoor Road for easing traffic rush in Jammu.
Dimple also demanded CBI inquiry in to the funds allotted to ERA, PWD for black topping of the Jammu city roads. Other prominent leaders present in the protest were Dr Sham Saroop, Rajinder Sharma, Dev Raj Gupta Sudhier Pardan, Balak Ram Gupta, Rang Pal Gupta, Dimple Suri, Bhagat Ram Sharma, Rajiv Gupta, Amit Gupta, Som Dut Magotra, Harbans Tondon, Bitoo Kumar and others.
