JAMMU: Young Meenal Gupta has won three titles in the ongoing Jammu Division selection chess tournament, organised by All J and K Chess Association at Ace Chess Academy, here on Wednesday.
She claimed coveted women’s open event. Earlier, she emerged winner in under-19 and under-15 age group competitions held at the same venue.
The second place in women’s category went to Arushi Kotwal while Aditi Sharma and Shivangi Raina finished third and fourth respectively.
In Boys under-11 age category, Vansh Mahajan clinched first position while Ayush Gupta remained third and Divay Jain and Divyam Gupta finished third and fourth respectively. Angelima Singh was declared winner in girls under-11 age category. Sumit Grover officiated all the matches played as per FIDE Laws of chess.
Meanwhile, the under-17 category events shall be decided tomorrow at the same venue.
