JAMMU: Former Minister and General Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma visited the far flung villages of Billawar Constituency namely Ria Tandi, Lower Tilla, Dadwara, Harnota, Thang Morha of Thara Kalyal, Dhan and Sallan to attend different social and religious functions and interact with the villagers of the said area. Villagers apprised Dr Sharma about their day-to-day problems and hardship faced by them due to non-serious and anti people approach of government and its functionaries.
Dr Sharma criticised the style of functioning of present dispensation in the State which is totally anti common masses particularly living in the villages and far flung areas.
The public said that there seems to be no government on ground, all the developmental schemes have been hampered and nobody seems concerned about the miseries of general public. The corruption is all time high and the public is crying for justice and loot by the functionaries for their minor tasks.
Dr Sharma strongly flayed the government for its anti public policies for making procedural complicacies for issuance of ration card, State Subject, income certificate, birth and death certificates and even handicap certificate which further aggravates the problems of common masses instead of simplifying and making time bound as already done by the previous government by passing legislation of Public Service Guarantee Act and brought various services under the preview of this Act.
Dr Sharma accused government both in Center and in State by hatching a conspiracy to weaken the Right to Information Act, Public Service Guarantee Act and non-implementation of Lokpal in the Central Government, which shows the intentions of government not to bring transparency and corruption free governance. Dr Sharma further said this had exposed the real face of Modi led BJP government in bringing transparency and corruption free governance as committed two years before attaining power during the Parliamentary subsequently Assembly elections.
The local villagers were crying due to the non availability of potable water, electricity, ration and medicines in the government hospitals which is very alarming position. Dr Sharma asked the administration to act promptly for the early disposal of burning problems of people as soon as possible.
