23 bovines rescued, three smugglers held

SUNDERBANI: Police on Monday foiled four bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 23 bovines and arresting three smugglers during separate Nakas at Sunderbani and Samba.
According to a report, Rajouri Police led by SHO Police Station Rajouri Inspr. Chaman Gorkha on a specific information laid Naka at Samsimt, near Darhali Bridge. During Naka, police seized a Tata mobile bearing registration No. JK02X-3685 and rescued eight bovines but smugglers fled away from the spot taking the advantage of darkness.
A case vide FIR No. 227/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Rajouri.
Meanwhile, SHO Police Station Sunderbani Inspr. Ravinder Singh Parihar during the intervening night of 1st -2nd May 2016 laid a Naka at Salari, Sunderbani. During Naka, police rescued six bovines and arrested two smugglers namely Showket Ali son of Ali Mohd and Mohd Sultan son of Mohd Maqbool both residents of Saleri, Sunderbani. A case vide FIR No.25/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Sunderbani.
Similarly, SHO Police Station Dharamsal Inspr. Darshan Singh during intervening night of 1st -2nd May 2016 laid Naka at Galla, Dharamsal. During checking, police rescued six bovines and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Ghulam Qadir son of Mohd Ibrahim resident of Dharamsal.
A case vide FIR No. 34/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Dharamsal and investigation going on.
Meanwhile, according to a report, a police party headed by Inspector Ajit Singh, SHO Ramgarh intercepted a Mahindra vehicle without registration number carrying four bovines which were being illegally transported without permission. But on seeing the Naka at Raika Morh Ramgarh, the driver of the said vehicle fled away under the cover of darkness, leaving the vehicle on spot much before the Naka. Accordingly, the bovines were rescued, vehicle seized and a case vide FIR No. 14/2016 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Ramgarh.
