JAMMU: Citing power outage crisis in Miran Sahib locality, Citizens Welfare and Development Council (CWDC) on Saturday demanded to upgrade the Miran Sahib Power Station with a transformer having added capacity to tackle the issue efficiently.
In this regard, R.K Sharma President, CWDC urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh to take immediate steps to bail out people of Miran Sahib locality from the clutches of acute power shortage especially during scorching summer days. In a memorandum submitted to CM and Deputy CM, Sharma maintained that he is pursuing the cause of up-gradation of 33/11 KV Receiving Station Miran Sahib since long and had called on former Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary to Government PDD, other PDD officials and DC Jammu for augmentation of the aforesaid receiving station from current capacity of 2X6.3 MVA to 2X10 MVA to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the aforesaid locality and the adjoining villages.
Giving details of outcome of his endeavours and latest status, Sharma urged the Chief Minister to accord sanction and release of funds for Revised Project Report for augmentation of 33/11 KV Receiving Station Miran Sahib to 2×10 MVA and installation of additional 10 MVA transformer to redress the long pending genuine demand of the general masses.
