JAMMU: All J and K ReT Teachers Forum on Saturday held a protest in front of Governor House against the callous attitude of the government harassing the ReT community by issuing the order of screening test.
A large number of ReTs led by State President Vinod Sharma assembled in front of Governor House and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
They were also supported by School Education Coordination Committee headed by Ganesh Khajuria and Narinder Singh Jamwal.
Addressing the gathering, Vinod said that the Education Department has misinterpreted the High Court Srinagar Wing judgment of 14th May, 2015 in which degrees issued by tuck shops and dubious universities were supposed to be verified and such class ReTs Teachers was supposed to face the screening test but order 631 Edu of 2015 dated 29th Dec 2015 clearly indicates that even Jammu University, Kashmir University, IGNOU, MANUU and any other equivalent recognised university issues fake distance mode degrees thereby questioning the credibility of the distance mode degrees of such reputed universities.
He said that on one hand the government is appointing various employees of distance mode degrees in all the departments and even deputing in service teachers for B.Ed through Distance mode of IGNOU, on the other ReTs possessing the distance mode degrees of such universities are asked to face screening test which is a clear cut discrimination and harassment of ReT cadre.
He appealed to the Governor N.N Vohra to personally intervene and the degrees holders of all the UGC recognised universities be exempted from screening test.
He also sought the immediate regularisation of ReT Teachers and KGBV Teachers who have completed their five years service for last 2 years and their regularisation.
The forum members threatened to further intensify the stir in near future if screening test order is not revoked and regularisation process is not started at once.
Others who also spoke on the occasion were Younis Rahi, Najam Jafari, Lekh Raj Parihar, Sukhdev Singh, Narinder Singh Jamwal, Naresh Sharma, Rajesh Jamwal, Sukesh Khajuria, Sham Sharma, Sajad Malik, Gulzabeer Daing, Ashok Seth, Manzoor Khan, Subash Chander, Tahir Masood, Balwan Singh, Rinku Sharma, Mahesh Kumar, Ravinder Singh, Ravinder Chib, Shabir Choudhary and Manzoor Malik.
