KISHTWAR: President, Public Awareness Front, Shakir Hussain Sadiqui, in a press statement said that the concerned department is not giving heed to their grievances regarding scarcity of water.
Due to alleged mismanagement of the PHE Department, the water crisis has deepened in various villages of Kisthwar District, putting the residents to extreme inconvenience.
He said that despite frequent requests to the officials of the department, no relief has been provided till date.
He accuse the department of supplying water arbitrarily. “The employees at PHE supply water at its own, especially to the villages having some political influence,” he alleged and added that the department is even not giving attention towards the repair of existing supply lines.
“It has now been a week without supply of water. Nearly 50 percent of water is lost due to leakage and pilferages as the pipes are worn out and rusty,” he said.
He alleged that the concerned department is not taking seriously the problems of people and threatened to stage protests if the situation did not improve in coming days.
