Governor reviews security; emphasises on vigil

JAMMU: Governor N.N. Vohra reviewed security management issues with senior Civil, Police, and Central Intelligence Agency officers in a meeting held at the Raj Bhavan here.
While reiterating the importance of continuing vigil over the situation and maintaining close coordination amongst all the concerned organisations, the Governor stressed on the importance of immediate action being taken on reports received from different quarters relating to the security environment. He also directed the Chief Secretary to closely monitor and ensure quick redressal of grievances relating to the needs of people.
The meeting was attended by B.R Sharma, Chief Secretary; K. Rajendra, Director General of Police; P.K Tripathi, Principal Secretary to Governor; R.K Goyal, Home Secretary; A.G Mir, IGP CID and senior officers of Central Intelligence Agencies.
Meanwhile, Usman Majeed, MLA Bandipora, met Governor N.N Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan and raised issues relating to delays in the implementation of certain development projects in his district.
The Governor appreciated Majeed’s concerns and urged him to continue sustained efforts for promoting the welfare of the people of his area.
Major General Sanjeev Narain, General Officer in Commanding, 26 Division also met Governor N.N Vohra, at the Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday.
Major General Narain briefed the Governor about the obtaining security situation in his area of responsibility.
