JAMMU: Government SPMR College of Commerce and Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor on Monday sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament of University of Jammu (JU), organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education on the campus ground, here.
In the quarterfinals, Commerce College defeated Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu by a big margin of 77 runs. Earlier, batting first, Commerce College set a target of 139 runs losing all their wickets. In reply, GMC bowled out for just 61 runs in 15 overs. In other quarterfinal, GDC Akhnoor defeated GDC Hiranagar by eight wickets. Batting first, Hiranagar made 60 runs for nine wickets in 16 overs, which, in reply, GDC Akhnoor chased in just 6.4 overs for the loss of two wickets.
