RAJOURI: NSS Unit of Govt. Degree College Thannamandi organised an Inter-College Symposium on the topic ‘Role of Youth in making society evil free’ Students from GDC Noweshera, GDC Budhal, GDC Rajouri, GDC Thannamandi and GDC Surankote participated in the symposium. Principal GDC Rajouri Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah was the Chief Guest at the occasion who also delivered a detailed lecture on the topic and also appreciated GDC Thannamandi for organising this programme. Principal of the College Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina presided over the function and in his presidential address advised the students that for eradiating the evils from the society they have to start from themselves and by keeping themselves away from evils. Sajid Javid of host college bagged first position and second position was secured by Girthu Choudhary of GDC Noweshera where as third position was clinched by Alham Mir of GDC Rajouri.
Earlier the programme started with the recitation of the few verses of the Holy Quran by Mr.Abdul Raouf. NSS Programme Officer Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather presented the welcome address. Prof. Junaid Jazib and two students Gohar Arzoo Chaand and Razia Dar jointly compered the programme. Dr. Naim-Un-Nisa, Prof. Sankait Gupta and Lecturer Sajad Ahmed adjudged the symposium where as Lect. Yasir Amin presented the formal vote of thanks. Other persons prominent present on the occasion included Prof. Mukesh Sharma of GDC Noweshera, Dr. Abbas Wani, Lect. Sajjad Ahmed, Lect. Munshi Khan and Lect.Mohd Yasir.
