JAMMU: The Department of Physics of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, on Wednesday organised a symposium on the topic ‘Role of Physics in Applied Sciences’.
The students of Semester 2nd and 4th participated in the programme. Out of 20 participants, nine were shortlisted for the final round to speak on the stage. Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Bharat Singh and Dr. Dalbir Kour gave the welcome note and Prof. Divya Sharma and Prof. Swarn Lata anchored the programme. Prof. P.K Amla, Prof. Balraj Kumar and Dr. Sunil Dutt acted as jury members. Prof. Sudha Sehgal, HoD Physics announced Tania Gupta, Mehak Jamwal and Rupali Choudhary as first, second and third in the competition. Prof. Shammi Kumar organised the symposium and presented a vote of thanks.
