JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front under the leadership of President Ashok Gupta held a protest here on Tuesday against the non-availability of electricity.
The protestors carried electric heaters to show resentment as without electricity these appliances are of no use. The damaged transformers cannot be repaired by the PDD due to which the people of rural areas are facing the maximum brunt as in some areas there is no electricity since past so many days, he alleged.
When the people are paying their charges for the electricity then why there is no electricity available to the people in this chilling winter, he said adding that most parts of the city have been reeling under darkness.
He further stated that not only the common persons are suffering but the non-availability of electricity has badly hit commercial activity also.
Parkash, Kuldeep, Rakesh, Satpal, Om Parkash, Krishna, Bantu and Abhishek were also present in the protest.
