JAMMU: Christian Sports XI, Ever Shine Club and YCC Srinagar registered wins in the ongoing Fourth Eid Diwali Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, jointly organised by J and K Police, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organisation at Parade Ground, here on Tuesday.
In the first match of the day, Christian Sports Club defeated JK Assembly XI by seven wickets in low scoring match. Batting first, JK Assembly XI scored 64 runs in 16 overs. Danish (24) and Shabir (11) were the main scorers. Anchal picked four wickets, Sunny took two and Nitu one for Christian Club. In reply, Christian Club, achieved the target in just 8.4 overs by losing three wickets. Hinan was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Deepak contributed 12 runs. Rayees picked all the three wickets for his team. Anchal was adjudged Man of the Match for his match winning bowling performance.
In another match, Evershine Club scripted a 37-run against Secretariat Green. Evershine Club, batting first, set a target of 140 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 18 overs. Sahil played an inning of 46 runs followed by Hussaanyar and Munsh, who added 17 and 16 runs respectively to the total. For Secretariat Green, Sunil took four wickets. In reply, Secretariat Green failed to chase the target and made only 103 runs in the allotted overs by losing seven wickets. G.M Dar, Altaf and Vijay were the main scorers with 39, 10 and nine runs respectively. Bansi Lal clinched three wickets, Narinder Singh took two and Vicky picked one. Sahil was adjudged Man of the Match.
In third and last match of the day, YCC defeated Simula Sports XI by two wickets.
Simula XI scored 107 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the designated 16 overs with the help of Mohit Puri (43) and Waseem (28) runs. Nadeem bowled well and picked four wickets while Shehroz took three and Abid picked one wicket.
In reply, YCC chased the target in last over of the game for the loss eight wickets, Shehroz (21) and Abir (14) were the main scorers. For Simula, Mohit, Gulzar and Sameer shared two wickets each. Nadeem was declared Man of the Match.
Earlier, Chief Guest, Mohal Lal, SSP Traffic Jammu was introduced with the participating teams and conveyed his best wishes to them for their best performance in the tournament.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Madan Lal and Danny.
Tomorrow’s fixture: Singh Cricket Club to face United Cricket Club at 8:30 AM; Jammu Stars XI to meet JK Warriors at 11:30 AM; Jammu Police XI to clash with Shastri Club at 2:15 PM.
