Kaka of Punjab lifts Panthal Kesari Dangal title

JAMMU: Punjab wrestler Kaka of Amritsar clinched the title bout of 116th Annual Panthal Kesari Dangal. In the final, played at Panthal in Tehsil and district Reasi, Kaka defeated Benia Min of J and K Police in a close contest that lasted for 17 minutes.
Kaka was adjudged as the best wrestler to claim the cash prize of Rs 18,000. The title was presented to Kaka jointly by Chief Guest, SP Katra, Sammer Kotwal, who was accompanied by Joint Secretary, J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Also present were DySP Katra, Dr Ashok Kumar, Prithvi Raj Sharma, NaibTehsildar, Hukam Chand and Ram Lal Sharma.
Runners-up, Benia Min was given away a cash prize of Rs 13,000. This Dangal was organised by Shri Swami Nitya Nand Wrestling Association under the aegis of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
Prominent among others present were, District Horticulture Officer, Varinder Sharma, Koushal Sharma, Sarpanch Rajinder Thappa, Sarpanch Rattan Singh, Ajay Baru, Bittu Raina, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Naib Sarpanch Raj Hussian and Ajit Kumar Master.
In all, 49 bouts took place in this day-long Dangal. In the second main bout Farooq of Sarore beat Gurpes of Amritsar and Roshan Lal of J and K Police defeated Kaka of RS Pura in the third bout.
Members and technical officials who helped in the smooth conduct of the event included Pritam Kumar Mangotra, Mukesh Khajuria, Parsotam Kumar Khajuria (Bittu) Mohan Lal Sanmotra, Sham Lal Khajuria, Ved Parkash Sanmotra, Ajit Kumar Sanmotra, Parsotam Kumar Mengi, Burjesh Khajuria, Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri), Deepak Wazir, Raj Singh, Laikat Ali, Dheeraj Kesar, Ramink Nowadha, Sat Paul, Rajinder Kumar, Om Parkash Verma and Raj Hussain.
Other Results: Murad Ali beat Sukhmaan, Mohd. Akhram defeated Rajesh Sharma, Lallu blanked Gurgent, Laikat Ali downed Balli, Dillar Khan outplayed Sadiq, Ajay Sharma beat Amir Khan, Muneer defeated Bharat Bushan, Arif beat Sethi, Vijay beat Jagga, Jakker beat Ballu, Bobari beat Dervinder, Salman beat Football, Gopal Sharma beat Sunny and Chain Singh beat Jamat Ali.
