JAMMU: Organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Tug of War Association, the two-day 2nd Senior Open State Championship got underway at Unique Public Higher Secondary School, Gadigarh, here on Thursday.
In all, 12 teams drawn, including those from districts other than Jammu are taking part in this competition. It will be out of the meet that State team will be selected for 28th Senior (men) National Championship to be held Aurangabad in Maharashtra from 22nd January.
Earlier, the opening day function was attended besides others by Association Secretary, Jodh Singh Isher, Joint Secretary, Jasvir Singh, Principal of the host School, Nirlap Singh, Ravinder Singh and Gaurav Sharma.
The Results:
District Budgam beat District Samba 2-0; Jammu district defeated Kathua 2-1; Unique Public School trounced Bhagat Singh Club 2-0; Guru Harkrishan HSS blanked High School Sohanjana 2-1; Khalsa Club Miran Sahib downed Dashmesh Club 2-0; Unique Club Jammu outplayed Friends Club R S Pura 2-0.
