J&K beat Delhi in Sr National Volleyball C’ship

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir men team won their group match beating Delhi in 3-1 (20-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-14) in the ongoing 64th Senior National Volleyball Championship at Bengaluru in Karnataka, on Monday.
As per the reports reaching here, J and K spikers Anil Singh, Rajinder Pal Singh and Imtiaz Ahmed displayed their skills including spikes efficiently and enthralled the audience. Earlier, J and K lost to Maharashtra by 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 16-25).
In the meantime, the State women team lost to Madhya Pradesh by 3-0 set.
J and K to meet West Bangal in men section on Tuesday.
The J and K team is playing under the guidance of Volleyball coaches, Naresh, Mohd Tariq, Akbar Ali and Tariq Khan.
In a message sent to teams, President Volleyball Association of J and K, Sidharth Daluja congratulated the boys’ team and officials for their excellent performance in the national championship and exhorted them to continue their efforts in achieving further success in the championship.
He also congratulated Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VAJK, Kuldip Magotra on being nominated as Chairman Control Committee of this senior national championship by Volleyball Federation of India.
