R S PURA: Dr. Gagan Bhagat MLA R.S Pura and Political Advisor to State BJP President and Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, along with SDM R S Pura ,Tehsildaar R S Pura, SDPO R.S Pura ,conducted an extensive tour of R.S Pura Town and reviewed the functioning of the Municipal Committee there.
During one day long visit, they visited various commercial and public projects being developed under Self Finance Schemes. Stressing on timeline completion of the projects, Dr. Gagan Bhagat issued directions to the execution agencies/officers to follow prescribed specifications in the work. He instructed the executive officer to develop commercially viable projects and emphasised that the R.S Pura Municipality should make efforts to become self sustaining. He directed EO Youdhraj to identify land so that commercial projects are conceived and revenue is generated to make the urban bodies earning organisations to enable these to take up developmental works of the area. Besides this the sanitation scenario prevailing in these R.S Pura town was also reviewed and instructions were given to concerned Officers to start one week cleanliness drive from next week. He also directed to carryout de-silting of the large draining channels, so that the problem of Waterlogging at R.S Pura be taken care of.
On certain demands of the Safaikarmcharis he said that the genuine demands of employees would be given due consideration. Instructions were issued to Executive Officers to use sufficient funds raised on the own resources on street lights. He said that the assistance in this regard shall also be provided by Directorate, and Director is very much interested to revive the Municipal Committee of R.S Pura, he inspected the ongoing as well as proposed project sites including, site for construction of 15 permanent kiosks near Tehsil Baazar, the modern toilet complex near SDM Office, renovation of existing municipal shops near Munsiffs Court Baazar with the consent of owners, renovation of bus stand along with construction of modern toilet complex, waiting shed for passengers, resting room for drivers and fifteen shops along with cafetria and macadamisation of R.S Pura Bus stand, parking slots at fruit and vegetable Mandi, near Police Headquarters were also inspected to avoid traffic congestion in the town. Strict instructions were issued to the concerned engineering staff to complete the ongoing projects by March 2016.The waste management sit at Village Sidhra was also inspected and instructions were issued to the SDM R.S Pura, Tehsildaar RS Pura and EO RS Pura to prepare the papers and perform the demarcation of the proposed land so that work on said project can be started early as possible.
While briefing the media Dr. Gagan Bhagat said that there are several tons of garbage collected by the MC RS Pura and by the use of bio-digestors as informed by the Director ULB, the recyclable waste will be converted into manure which in turn will be utilised by the farmer community in their fields for better yields.
Prominent among those who were present included Karan Bhagat, Brijesh Rana, Harbhajan Pammi, Inder Sudan, Natharam, SHO R S Pura, EO R S Pura, XEn of Sewerage Department, ULB and RNB, and other engineering staff.
