JAMMU: The PDP activist and President Ward No 68, Jammu Kulwant Singh said that in spite of various remedial steps taken by the government, the voters list prepared by the election authorities have mostly been found incorrect.
In number of cases the voters who expired long before, continue to exist in the lists and similarly the voters who have shifted to other wards or constituencies also continue to exist. At the same time the genuine voters do not find their names in the voter lists due to which they are deprived of their constitutional rights. Singh appealed to the Returning Officer for issuing suitable instructions to the concerned officials so that realistic voters’ lists are prepared through door-to-door survey with correct particulars.
