NOWSHERA: The residents of village Gagrote, Tehsil Nowshera held a strong protest against PWD for not carrying out the repair of their approach road.
The villagers including Kulveer Singh, Rattan Singh, Trilok Singh, Hari Chand, Roshan Lal and others said that they made several requests to the department and even to the Sub District administration for the repair of this stretch of 5.5 kilometer road but no action has been taken either by the PWD nor the administration. The protesters blocked the road and raised slogans against the concerned authorities.
The villagers said that in the absence of repair this road has become more or less a Nallah due to which the rain water enters into the houses of people and their fields are flooded resulting into the loss of seeds and the fertilisers.
The SDPO Nowshera Sargun Shukla reached the spot and pacified the villagers that their grievances will be conveyed to the concerned authorities for redressal. On her assurance the villagers lifted Dharna.
