12 bovines rescued, 4 smugglers nabbed

R S PURA: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing two bovines and arresting two smugglers at R S Pura.
According to a report, on a reliable information a party of Police Station R S Pura led by SHO Chandal Kohli intercepted two smugglers near village Agra Chack and found them carrying two bovines towards Kashmir on foot.
On questioning, smugglers failed to produce permission for the same and were arrested by the police.
The arrested smugglers were identified as Javed Son of Noor Din and Mushtaq Ahmed son of Jain both residents of Gujjar Basti Kadyal, R S Pura. A case under relevant section was registered against the arrested accused persons.
Meanwhile, a party of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli SHO Hilal Azhar rescued 10 bovines and arrested two smugglers identified as Tofim Nisar son of Nisar Hussain resident of Thanamandi Rajouri and Noor Alam son of Mohd Swaru resident of Talwara Reasi.
The truck (JK02AB/8677) used for the smuggling was also seized.
