JAMMU: Federation of Industries (FOI), Jammu expressed concern over the land cancelation directives issued by Managing Director SIDCO.

In this regard, a meeting of Federation of Industries, Jammu was held under the leadership of its President, Rajesh Jain here on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Lalit Mahajan, Vijay Aggarwal, Devinder Verma, Romesh Badyal, Co-Chairmen FOIJ, Rakesh Bhat, Secretary General and S.B Abrol, Convener.

The Federation observed that Order No. DI&CJ/PS/2015/953-64 dated 18th March 2015, for the extension of time of six months for taking effective steps for the implementation of projects by the unit holders on the land allotted by SIDCO, is not being adhered by the J and K SIDCO authorities as they are not allowing any type of construction to be carried out on allotted plots thereby defeating the very purpose of order and breach of instructions as already conveyed by the Minister for Industries and Commerce and Financial Commissioner of Industries and Commerce Department.

The Managing Director of SIDCO owes an explanation for bringing the industrial development at grinding halt by not allowing the entrepreneurs to implement the projects and taking effective steps.

“We are aware that some of unit holders had to sell/transfer the land due to their personal financial problems for which the Govt. had itself made a transfer policy. Further there is considerable delay in the sanction of Power in favour of unit holders. We have come to know that SIDCO wants to cancel the vacant plots along with the Projects under implementation where the construction works is going on for the reason best known to the concerned officials which is injustice with local entrepreneurs. Most of them are in the phase of their planning/execution of their projects for which Govt. should give sufficient time to them for taking effective steps for the implementation of their projects”, the meeting said.

The meeting appealed to Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash to intervene in the matter and order grant of one year time to unit holders for taking effective steps for the implementation of their projects with a directions to Director Industries and Commerce, Jammu/Kashmir to renew the Provisional Registration EM Part-I immediately to fulfill the duty of promotion and development of Industries for generating employment opportunities.
