POONCH: Poonch Eleven Cricket Club won a T20 Cricket Tournament by defeating Glamour Cricket Club, Poonch in the final played, here on Wednesday.
The tournament was organised by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, under Romeo Force to pay tributes to Shaheed Major Rohit Sharma, Shaurya Chakra who had laid down his life during a search operation in Pooch District.
Ten teams of the area took part in the tournament.
The event was commenced with a cultural programme put up by the students of the area.
The Chief Guest Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh, who had conquered the highest peak during an operation in Siachen, gave away the prizes to the winner and runner up teams. The event was a huge success and large numbers of people turned up to watch the matches.
