SRINAGAR: Member Legislative Council, Mohammad Khursheed Alam on Tuesday flagged off Cross Country event which was organised by the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowhatta Srinagar. The race was started from Duck Park to Nishat Garden in which a good number of students participated.
Interacting with the participants, MLC said that organizing of such events give platform to the students to show their hidden talent. He said talent is present among the students of the state but need is to channelize it in a proper way so that they can compete at national and state level championships. He thanked the Principal of the school and organizers for conducting such events and asked them to manage similar events in other education institutions.
Director School Education Kashmir who was the guest of honour on the occasion said that organizing of such events provides ample opportunity to the students to show their talent.
Later, Aalam distributed prizes among the meritorious participants. Yasmeen of Class 10th stood first while Yasmeen and Bisma of Class 11th stood second and third positions.
