JAMMU: Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackrey expressed discontentment over the different statements issued by the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the issue of All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS).
Talking to media persons here on Tuesday, State General Secretary of the Party, G.I Singh said that 21 members of the party in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have assured full support for establishment of AIIMS at Jammu.
He further expressed that it is a matter of regret that some political parties are trying to hijack AIIMS Coordination Committee for gaining political mileage.
“We appeal to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu as well as to Chamber of Commerce and Industries to remain vigilant from the nefarious agenda of political parties over this issue,” he said.
“We want to know why Central Government is hesitating in formal announcement on the issue.” He said.
He also criticised State BJP leaders who agreed while drafting Common Minimum Programme for shifting of AIIMS to Srinagar from Jammu.
State Chairman Rakesh Gupta, President Dimpy Kohli and Working President Vikrant Kapoor were also present in the press conference.
