RAMBAN: Police on Monday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 18 bovines and arresting a smuggler.
District Police Ramban today again foiled another major bid of bovine smuggling at Ramsoo.
According to a report, on specific information, police party led by Inspr. Nazir Ahmed Dar, SHO Police Station Ramsoo under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohd Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar, laid a special Naka at Ramsoo on NHW 44 and intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK19-0353 driven by Mohd Iqbal son of Gul Mohd resident of Chamalwas Banihal District Ramban. During checking, 18 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle in a cruel manner. On this, driver of vehicle was arrested and a case under FIR No. 36/2015 section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act was registered against him at Police Station Banihal.
