NOWSHERA : A meeting of pensioners was held under the chairmanship of Senior Vice President of J and K Handicapped Welfare Association in which the participants strongly resented the system of delayed and irregular payment of pension to the physically challenged persons, old age people, widowed women and others.
The speakers said that beneficiaries have to visit the banks and Social Welfare Office again and again and return home disappointed on getting a reply, “Funds have not been received”. They said that sufficient amount is spent by pensioners on journey from home to bank or office.
Vinod Sharma who brought this problem to the notice of DDC Rajouri Jatinder Kumar Singh during his visit to Nowshera, has appealed to him to issue suitable instructions to the concerned quarters to release pension of these needy people regularly.
