JAMMU: Principal Sessions Kathua Vinod Chatterji Koul on Saturday awarded one year imprisonment and fine of Rs 1,000 to Davinder Nath, son of Chandu Lal, resident of Ward No. 9, Basohli, District Kathua, who is facing trial in molestation case.
According to the prosecution, the mother of the prosecutrix in a complaint had alleged that on 27th December, 2013 at about 3:00 PM her daughter had gone to market for purchasing house hold items and on her way back from the market at Chhandi Shah Well accused Davinder Nath, a barber by profession caught hold of her arm and took her inside the shop with the intention to molest her. It was only when prosecutrix raised hue and cry following which some people came on spot and thrashed the accused. Later, Davinder Nath ran away from the spot. Consequently, police registered a case and after completion of investigation Challan was presented. JNF
