JAMMU: In a tough fight which lasted for 35 minutes wrestler Mohd. Sadiq of Gajansoo won the Thanda Pani Kesari Dangal title held at Thanda Pani near Nagrota Jammu by defeating Murad Ali of Jagti.
The Dangal was organised by Thanda Pani Dangal Committee under the overall supervision of its President Hans Raj and members including Naib Serpanch Raj Singh, Manzoor Hussain, Kesri Singh, Ali Bahadur and Shallo Ram.
Bahujan Samaj Party State General Secretary, Rakesh Wazir was the Chief Guest on the occasion who gave away the cash prize to the winner of the competition besides other gifts in presence of other dignitaries.
The second main bout was won by Din Mohammad of Kathua by defeating Sunil of Akhnoor. The third bout was won by Naresh Kumar of Showa by defeating Parlhad Singh of Budhal.
The 4th bout was won by Balli of Sidhra by defeating Hoshiar Singh of Mahore. The 5th bout was won by Anwar of Nargara by defeating Mohd. Sharief of Gajansoo. In total 45 bouts were played in today’s wrestling event.
Rakesh Wazir complimented Dangal Committee for successful conduct of Dangal and said that the tradition of wrestling is from the times of Lord Krishna and this game keeps the people fit. He asked the people to organise these wrestling events in a more professional way so that even private players and big companies may also associate themselves with wrestling by way of sponsorships etc. and its horizon may increase further. President Dangal Committee Hans Raj thanked the people for making the Dangal a grand success.
