JAMMU: Bajrang Dal activists held a demonstration against Hurriyat’s proposed seminar scheduled for 14th June alleging that it is aimed at promoting anti-India and anti-national sentiments in Kashmir Valley.
Raising anti-Hurriyat slogans, the activists burnt the effigy of Syed Ali Shah Geelani. “It is aimed at promoting anti-India and anti-national sentiments in Kashmir Valley. The state and Central governments must immediately ban this seminar,” Bajrang Dal state coordinator, Rakesh Sharma said.
Stating that several known separatists are also supposed to participate in the seminar, he said that if stringent action is not taken against separatists like Geelani then the unfinished agenda of Muslim League which led to the creation of Pakistan will get momentum and could be detrimental for the nation.”
Hurriyat Conference, headed by hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, decided to organise a seminar in Srinagar on June 14 to which many separatist leaders, including members from Sikhs groups and Christian community representatives have reportedly been invited.
Among those who joined the protest include Kartik Sudan, Sagar Sharma, Pawan, Naresh, Daleep Singh, Manik Sodhi, Karan Sharma, Lucky Sharma and Ladhi.
