Inculcate work culture to meet targets: Zulfkar

BUDGAM: Underscoring the need for objective assessment of the performance of line departments, Minister for CAPD and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali on Thursday exhorted upon the officers to inculcate work culture and ensure proper utilisation of funds for timely completion of development works. He also called for fixing priorities and achieving results in time-bound manner.
Chairing district plan review meeting here, the minister asked the executing agencies not to compromise on quality of work while achieving physical targets under different development programmes. He said it is imperative to build sustainable assets for the coming generations.
Taking a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements under the district plan 2014-15, Zulfkar stressed for focused approach to achieve the objectives and targets envisaged in the developmental projects.
The minister reviewed sector-wise performance and status of various developmental projects besides taking stock of the physical and financial achievements of various flagship programmes.
The minister expressed dissatisfaction over the performance under these schemes and asked the concerned departments to strive towards achieving the targets in stipulated time.
Reviewing the progress in Social Welfare Department, the minister directed the concerned District Development Commissioner to constitute a squad for frequent inspection of Anganwadi Centres to ensure proper working and timely distribution of nutrition.
The minister asked the PDD authorities to chalk out a proposal in consultation with local MLAs regarding establishment of transformer buffer stock in the district to cater to the immediate requirement of damaged transformers.
