SRINAGAR: Mirza Gladiators and Simula Super Stars registered win in ongoing Police Public Cricket Premier League, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium and Kashmir University Ground respectively, here on Wednesday.
The league is being organised under the overall supervision of Director General of Police, K Rajindra.
In the first match played at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Mirza Gladiators defeated Al Hamza Super Kings by six wickets. Batting first after winning the toss, Al Hamza Super Kings scored 132 runs for four wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Pandeep Singh smashed 50.
In reply, Mirza Gladiators played well and achieved the target by scoring 133 for five wickets in 20 overs. Manzoor Pandov, who played a winning knock of 57 runs with three sixes, was declared as the Man of the Match and also awarded for most sixes in the match. Best catch of the match award was achieved by Ahmad Banday of Mirza Gladiators.
The second match between JKP Tigers and Anantnag Kings could not be played due to rain and as per rules each team shared one point.
The Principal Government Women College MA Road, Shaheen Altaf presented the gift cheques among the players.
In another match played at Kashmir University Ground, Simula Super Stars defeated HK Stars by three wickets.
Batting first, HK Stars scored 127 for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Abid Nabi (47) and Majid (36) runs were the main scorers.
In reply, Simula Super Stars chased the target of for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Raman Datta played a inning of 32 runs and was declared as the Man of the Match. Most sixes award was achieved by Majid and best catch of the match award was won by Muzamil of HK Stars.
Second match between Ramhall Lions and TCI Max was also disrupted by the rains and each team was shared a point.
Tomorrow fixtures: Alhamza Superkings V/S HK Stars at SK Stadium and Murtaza Warriors V/S Mirza Gladiators at University Ground at 9:30 AM. JKP Tigers V/S BCC Bulls at SK Stadium and Anantnag Kings V/S Ramhalls Lions at University Cricket Ground at 1:30 PM.
