JAMMU: The AIIMS Coordination Committee on Friday took out a candle-light march to mark its resentment against the insensitive and inflexible authorities which have put them on the war path.
The procession was started from Brahman Sabha, Parade and culminated at City Cbowk, Jammu. The procession was attended by the members of the coordination committee, masses and other prominent dignitaries of Jammu including doctors, senior and young Advocates.
Reacting over the statement of MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh that the sanctioned AIIMS will be first established in Jammu than in any other region of the State, Chairman of AIIMS Coordination Committee and President of J and K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma asked Singh to clarify that whether this statement was official or his personal remark. He urged the MoS to clear the confusion created by his own statement made in Srinagar the same day that Jammu should also get AIIMS as an Institute has been given to Kashmir for enhancing healthcare facilities to the people.
Abhinav said that it would have been better if he has cleared the air by making an official statement that the AIIMS, which was sanctioned for Jammu shall be established in Jammu.
Abhinav said that the people of Jammu province have never expected that those who were given the mandate would treat them so shabbily and follow in the footsteps of other parties. He regretted that instead of discussing the issue with AIIMS Coordination Committee to sort out the issue the visiting minister gave contradictory statements.
Demanding early redressal, he cautioned the authorities not to test the patience and play with the sentiments of people.
The next meeting of the Coordination Committee is scheduled to be held on 6th June at Chamber House to discuss the further course of action.
