KATHUA: Hundreds of daily wagers workers of PWD of Kathua District under LPGEF banner staged Dharna in Kathua town on Friday to lodge protest against non-payment of wages for months together and in support of their regularisation after seven years of service including those engaged after 1994.
Kabla Singh District President of LPGEF Kathua , while addressing the agitating daily wage workers , alleged that the authorities are pushing these workers and their families to starvation by not paying them wages for months together . He warned that in case nothing is done soon in this regard they will be justified to intensify struggle soon with the full backing of the federation. He also sought immediate regularisation of daily wagers who have put in more than seven years service. Later a deputation met the SE who gave patient hearing and assured to take up their issues with higher authorities of PWD for amicable redressal . Others who spoke on the occasion were Suraj Bhagat , Raj Kumar and Narayan Singh .
