Various dignitaries meet Governor

SRINAGAR: MLA Kulgam, M.Y Tarigami and MLA Khansahib, Hakim Mohammad Yaseen, Director General Medical Services (Army), Lt. Gen V.P. Chaturvedi, Chairperson, Institute for Gender Justice (IGJ), Sreerupa Mitra Chaudhary called on Governor, N.N Vohra, here on Thursday.

Tarigami briefed the Governor about various matters relating to his Constituency and about certain recent developments in the State.

The Governor and Tarigami discussed several issues relating to the future growth and development of the State.

Yaseen apprised the Governor about various post-flood problem and developmental issues in his Constituency, particularly those which relate to the provision of basic amenities.

The Governor urged the Legislator to maintain close involvement with the implementation of all the development programmes in his Constituency.

Lt. Gen. Chaturvedi briefed the Governor about the new facilities and technologies being introduced in the Army Hospitals to further enhance the patient care in the Military Hospitals in J&K and elsewhere in the country.

The Governor discussed with the DGMS certain issues relating to the extension of medical services and related facilities to the ex-Servicemen living in various parts of the State.

Sreerupa, on the occasion of the World Environment Day, which is observed every year on 5th June, presented a symbolic “Tree of Peace” to the Governor and briefed him about the environment conservation activities undertaken by the Institute; particularly the plantation drives in J and K.

The Governor lauded the role being played by the IGJ for promoting the noble and significant cause of environmental conservation and wished Choudhary continuing success in her future endeavours.
