JAMMU: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) Jammu and Kashmir State President Rajiv Mahajan has severely criticized the PDP-BJP Coalition Government for making a mockery of farmers by delivering cheques amounting to Rs. 47 to maximum of Rs 378 as compensation for the crops damage during the last September floods.

Describing it as another discrimination meted out to Jammu region, Mahajan said that after suffering a huge crop loss they were disappointed by state government by sanctioning meager amount as compensation. Mahajan said it is a joke with Jammu farmers but at the same time a big insult to the state government who has sanctioned such embarrassing amount as compensation for extensively damaged crops of poor farmers.

Mahajan said while farmers and orchardists in Kashmir valley have been compensated adequately for the crop loss, the farmers in Jammu have been deprived of their share and given only lollipops, which is a clear case of discrimination with Jammu region. Mahajan cautioned the Mufti Mohmad Sayeed led state government to desist from Kashmir centric policy and ignoring the Jammu region. Mahajan also castigated BJP MLAs for selling out the interests of Jammu people to PDP for lust of power. Mahajan again reiterated his organization’s demand for separate Jammu state to finish discrimination once for all.
