Deputation calls on DDC, demands repair to bridges

POONCH : A deputation of Border villagers from Deghwar, Dara Dullian and Jhallas who have been deprived of proper connectivity across Betar Nallah and Poonch river due to washing away of a foot bridge at Deghwar and Sher-i-Kashmir Bridge on National Highway, met the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch Nissar Ahmed Khan and sought reconstruction of these bridges immediately. The deputation was led by Congress District President Adv Rajinder Singh.
Rajinder said that these bridges were washed away during floods but have not been restored due to which the people of Poonch District are suffering a lot. He said that in spite of repeated requests no action has been taken by the administration and people continue to suffer for the last 10 months.
The DDC appreciated the concern of the people and assured them that the efforts will be made to start work on these bridges at the earliest.
Prominent among those present include Mohd Taj, Sanjeev Kumar, Aurangzeeb, Rajinder Sngh Retd Dist Sports Officer, Mohd Sher Sarpanch, Gulam Nabi and Mohd Farooq.
