80,000 capsules, tablets recovered Two brothers, courier operator among 4 drug peddlers arrested

JAMMU: A huge consignment of capsules and tablets have been seized while police has arrested four drug peddlers on Friday.
Giving details, City North SP Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan, said, Vishal Gupta and Karun Gupta, both sons of Naresh Gupta, resident of 41, Gali Khilona, Pacca Danga, Anil Gupta, son of Shiv Dutt, resident of Praladhpur, Jammu and Subash Chander, son of Bansi Lal, resident of 32, JMC Bohri, Talab Tillo have been arrested.
FIR under NDPS Act has been registered against these accused. More arrests are likely to be made in the case, informed SP Chouhan.
Two brothers Vishal and Karan received a consignment of 60,000 capsules Tramadol and tablets Altrazolam from Agra. Police team on a tip off laid a trap near Nowabad and arrested them on the spot when the duo received the consignment from one Anil Gupta, who runs a courier company under name and style Anil Couriers at Khalsa Chowk, Nanak Nagar.
Subash Chander, another drugs supplier was also arrested from the spot. The duo had reached Nowabad chowk to receive the consignment from Anil.
Police team nabbed all the four accused from the spot. Simultaneous raids were conducted at the residence of two brothers and the office of the courier company. Another consignment of 20,000 capsules and tablets was recovered from the residence of Vishal and Karan.
During the preliminary interrogation, the accused has revealed the name of their associates. Police said, “More arrested are likely to be made within couples of days. A team has been deputed for Agra to inquire about the sale of this huge quantity of drugs.”
