Sports boost mental, physical ability: Sunil Sharma

KISHTWAR: Minister of State for PWD (R&B) and Revenue, Sunil Sharma said that sports activities help in strengthening and boosting the mental as well as physical ability among the students besides inculcate a sense of responsibility and morality.
The minister said this while giving away the prizes among the winner and runner up teams on the concluding day of the Inter Zonal Level Cricket Tournament of U-14 and U-16 teams organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kishtwar.
The event was held under the supervision of Director General YSS, Jahangir Mir and Deputy Director YSS Jammu, Rishi Kumar.
In u-16 category finals, Kishtwar defeated Inderwal Zone by a massive margin of 48 runs.
Mohsin Hussain of Kishtwar team was adjudged as Man of the Match for superb bowling figures of two overs, ten runs and three valuable wickets.
Besides, in u-14 years category finals, Kishtwar defeated Drabshalla Zone by a margin of 44 runs.
Amar Kumar of Kishtwar team was adjudged as Man of the Match for impressive bowling figures of two overs, six runs and four wickets.
The minister, who was the Chief Guest on the concluding ceremony of the tournament, said that sports activities help in all round development of students. He said that sports activities help to keep the students away from the social evils like drugs etc. and needs to be carried out regularly in schools to chisel the sporting talent of the students and provide a suitable platform to them to participate at District, Zonal and State as well as National Level.
