Model Academy organises “meet our alumni” programme

JAMMU: Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER, organised ‘Meet Our Alumni’ programme to make the students and faculty acquainted with distinguished alumni of the school which has produced over 7600 alumni over the past 79 years.
In the first interaction for this session, SP Rajinder Gupta, the Regional Passport Officer Jammu was that distinguished alumni on this occasion. Dr. Adit Gupta Joint Director MIER, Rupa Gupta, Management Representative, Usha Gadoo Officiating Principal and Manjari Sehgal and Jasleen Mohial, Academic Managers were also present during the interaction session. The faculty members and students of classes 9th to 12th of the school also attended the function.
In his welcome address, Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, who happens to be Rajinder Gupta’s batch mate, enunciated his achievements and reminisced the days spent together in the school. While talking to the students, Rajinder Gupta recollected the fond memories of the days spent in the school and advised the students to focus not only on their studies but also on co-curricular activities as it allows students to become acute thinkers and unleash their creativity. He laid stress on the holistic development of the students, which includes both scholastic and non-scholastic aspects. He exhorted the students to follow their dreams and not be swayed by societal or parental pressures. He also talked about the importance of vocational training and competitive exams. He shared his Success Mantra with the students, which is hard work, focused approach and quality education.
Later, in an interactive session the students asked a number of interesting questions to the distinguished guest. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks presented by Manju Vali, Convener Co- Curricular Committee.
