KATHUA: The DDC Kathua Ajay Singh Jamwal chaired a meeting of officers and prominent citizens to discuss arrangements for ensuing Amaranth Yatra.
The DDC reviewed the preparation of each department for the smooth conduct of Yatra. He called for formulating a comprehensive plan for the smooth conduct of Yatra and meeting every type of exigency.
The DDC said that district administration will make all out efforts for offering best hospitality to the Yatris and make provision of other amenities like food, drinking water and lodging.
He directed departments of PHE, PDD to ensure round the clock uninterrupted water and power supply at Lakahnpur. He directed the Police Department to formulate security plan at Lakahnpur and also directed Traffic Police to make traffic arrangements with special focus on one time checking procedure for the convenience of the pilgrims.
He said a Coordination Committee shall be constituted for keeping a close vigil on market prices of the eatables and its quality, hygiene and cleanliness, besides accommodation for Yatris.
Earlier the DDC listened to the suggestions of the prominent citizens and social organisations for making better arrangements for the Yatra. The representatives assured full cooperation to the administration for successful Yatra.
The DDC directed the concerned departments to ensure sufficient accommodation with proper sanitary and other basic facilities. Traffic regulations, management of pilgrims, required infrastructure to manage the rush of vehicles, security and medical facilities shall be given first priority, the DC directed.
DC Excise Rajesh Sharma, ADC Kathua Dr Mushtaq Ahmed, ADDC Kathua Dr Manmohan Singh, ASP Kathua Nisar Ahmed, ACR Kathua Atul Gupta, ACD Kathua Sunil Sharma, XEn PDD Karam Chand ,AEE PHE Gopal Sharma, AEE PWD, Dy S.P Civil Defence Kathua Rajinder Sharma, DTI Traffic, Tehsildar Kathua Avtar Singh, Tehsildar HQ, other officers, prominent citizens, members of social organisations, private schools association, private colleges association were also present on the occasion.
