JAMMU: Workshop on Statistical Analysis for Social Sciences organised by the Department of Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour of the Central University of Jammu concluded here on Friday.
This workshop, supported by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) under capacity building program as part of its nationwide initiative to raise the quality of research in the country was attended by participants from all across the Northern States of India. Acclaimed statisticians and researchers from across the country delivered lectures and imparted hands-on training during the workshop which enhanced the research skill and knowledge of the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Education, Priya Sethi, who was the Chief Guest, underlined the need for hands-on training in research methodology to raise the level of our social science research and researchers.
Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice CUJ, expressed satisfaction on the successful culmination of the workshop that was sponsored by ICSSR. He announced a Faculty Development Workshop sponsored by ICSSR in the near future for enhancing the research skills of the teaching faculty.
Dr. Jaya Bhasin, Head Department of MBA HRM and OB presented a detailed report of the workshop.
Prof. Alok Saklani, Director Apeejay School of Management, Prof. Paramjit Singh Judge from Sociology department , GNDU Amritsar, Dr. M. Naveed Khan, Business Administration Department , AMU , Dr. Manorama Tripathi from Library and Information Science, JNU, Prof. D. P. Singh, Social Sciences TISS, Mumbai, Dr Ahustosh Pradhan, Social Work, CUHP, Dr. Manoj Bhat, Economics, JU, Dr. Manish Sharma, Statistics, SKAUST, Dr. Jeevan Jyoti and Dr. Hardeep Chahal, Commerce, JU had been the eminent resource persons.
Deans of various schools and Heads of Departments, faculty and officers of the university were present on the occasion. All the participants received certificates from the minister. While Anjali Pathania, Assistant Professor MBA HRM&OB presented a formal vote of thanks, Gowhar Rasool, Assistant Professor MBA HRM&OB conducted the proceedings of the event.
