REASI: In its vigorous
drive against encroachers of forest land, a special team of Forest Division Reasi
led by Rakesh Sharma
Range Officer (RO) Reasi Division retrieved 30 Kanals of land been encroached by a local person.
According to reports, on the direction of Chief Conservator Forest (CCF) Jammu Asif Sagar a special team was constituted under the close supervision of DFO Reasi Dr. Jitendra K Singh.
The team led by Range Officer (RO) Forest Division Reasi Rakesh Sharma assisted by police and jawans of Forest Protection Force (FPF) successful retrieved land from the encroacher identified as Lehar Singh son of Kartar Singh resident of village Dangakote in Reasi who encroached upon 30 Kanals forest land illegally.
Sources further disclosed that whole operation was
carried out in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class appointed by DC Reasi.
The forest land so retrieved stood fenced with wooden posts and barbed wire.
The accused encroacher is being proceeded against under relevant sections of J and K Forest Act.
Sources told that Forest Deptt. is going to act tough against encroachers and every inch of forest land under illegal occupation shall be freed from clutches of grabbers in future also for better ecological balance and to check the menace in the State.
However senior officers of the department has highly appreciated the efforts of the RO Reasi and other team members to get evicted encroached forest land peacefully without breeching peace and law and order.
