Nirvana Academy organises Golden Guitar festival

JAMMU: The Nirvana Academy on Sunday organised a guitar competition for the “Golden Guitar” festival at Government Women College, Parade Auditorium, here.

The fest was held in different categories of guitar music in which more than 70 participants from Jammu region took part.

The participants showcased their talent in the competition by performing regional, Indian as well as popular music on guitar, which drew appreciation from the audience.

Gautam Kotwal lead guitarist of Mythya Band and Golden Guitar Awardee and (retd.) Army officer, P.S Wazir adjudged the contest.

Participants from school, colleges and institutes showed their skills on guitar by playing leads and chords.

Participants from Strings, Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya, Banyan International, Heritage Strings– School of Rock, Guitar Head, Rhythm Music Institute, Jodhamal Public School, Heritage School and KC International School were also awarded.

Festival inaugurated with the spellbound performance of Al Hana Babar followed by instrumental guitar solo, duet and group competition.

Prominent among the others were R.C Puri Secretary IRCS, Hemu Karki Teacher AOL, Pradeep Dutta, Vikrant Dogra, Ashutosh Dubey, Vikul Gupta, Naresh Sharma, Kuldeep Kumar, Anish Mattoo, Sahil Sharma, Subhash Dey Golden Guitar Awardee, Sham Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Richard Teji, Anmol Amla, Meenakshi Sharma, Nishant Vaid, Amrit Paul Singh, Avnish Sharma, vikas Bawa and Happy. Tanuja Chehhar Chetteri anchored the programme.

Result in different categories:

Kids Group: Vridhi Mahajan 1st, Ishwin Kour 2nd and Pavit Singh Choudhary 3rd.

Drums Instrumental: Al-Hana Babar 1st, Suvinay Jain 2nd and Varda Chadha 3rd.

Guitar Solo: Upto-10 yrs (Group-A): Navya Gupta 1st and  Zorawar Singh Sodhi 2nd. (Group-B): Manya Mahajan 1st, Saksham Verma and Paarth Sharma, joint 2nd  and Vyom Garg 3rd. (Group-C): Aanandi Sharma 1st, Vibha Katyal 2nd and Ansh Bakshi and Ariran Mahajan joint 3rd. (Group-D): Arshuman Kapahi 1st, Prithish Dogra 2nd and Anubhav Sharma 3rd. (Group-E) Aryan Sharma 1st and Satendra Sharma 2nd

11–14 yrs: (Group-A) Vasu Gupta 1st, Gun Gun Anand and Dhruv Salathia, joint 2nd and Ayush Mahajan 3rd. Duet Guitar: Soham Amla and Yuvraj Gupta 1st.

Guitar (Junior): The Cresendos 1st.

(Senior): Incredibles Group 1st and HRA Group Strings 2nd.
