JAMMU: District Congress Committee launched the membership drive under the leadership of Anil Chopra President DCC Jammu (U) at Gandhi Nagar.
Vice President JKPCC and former Minister, Raman Bhalla was the Chief Guest.
A large number of Congress workers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Highlighting the achievements of the party, Anil Chopra said that it is imperative to come forward and enrol maximum number of new members in the party fold.
Raman Bhalla said that Congress is a strong unifying force which represents each and every section of the pluralistic society and is a vibrant political party in all the three regions of the state.
Criticising one year old BJP government led by Modi, he said that it has failed on all fronts. He also criticised PDP-BJP government and appealed to people of Jammu to support the Jammu Bandh call given by Jammu Coordination Committee on 27th May, 2015.
He said that BJP Ministers and MLAs are befooling the people of Jammu on the issue of AIIMS and Artificial Lake, moreover there is shortage of ration, electricity and drinking water supply.
He appealed to the people to question BJP over its policy of surrender during membership campaigning and asked them to strongly oppose its policies.
