RAJOURI: Taking a serious note of the multi-lakh scholarship fraud being surfaced in the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri in which a case has been registered recently, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and BJP State Vice President Vibodh Gupta on Saturday asked the State Government to form an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT) to unearth the whole fraud.
During a media interaction, Vibodh said that the BGSB University is running under the name and fame of a great Sufi Saint Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah, who was an epitome of secular fabric across the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
The emergence of such a fraud in the university, which is running under a sacred name of Baba, could not be tolerated at any cost and the people who were involved in the fraud must be booked under law and put behind the bars so that nobody in future would dare to repeat such crimes, Vibodh said and added that the inquiry must be done in a transparent manner so that the culprit does not succeed to hush-up the fraud.
Highlighting that the students in the BGSB University are already facing many hardships in terms of sky-rocketing fee structure, shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, lack of many basic amenities, Vibodh assured that he will meet the Chief Minister and Minister for Higher Education in this regard so that the government gives more attention towards the Varsity.
MLC further assured that in the days to come he will also meet the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani in New Delhi and take up the case of awarding special assistance and attention towards the BGSB University in Rajouri so that the students and staff members working in this remotest part of the State and country get equal opportunities to enhance their career which inturn would be of great benefit for their growth.
