7th National Heritage Trek Expedition,201STATE TIMES NEWS

JAMMU: Second batch comprising 19 trekkers including two females from different parts of  country  participating in Seventh National Heritage Trek Expedition being organized by Youth Hostels Association of India, J and K State Branch in collaboration with Udhampur Administration and Directorate of Tourism Jammu.

Trekking enthusiast Archit, a student of class VI from APS  Udhampur, and Balwan Singh Dy. Director Adventure Promotion flagged off the trakkers.

The batch included some of the most travelled and experienced trekkers of the country of varied age group from 21 years to 60 years of age from Udhampur base camp.

The trek will cover the areas with Udhampur as the Base Camp, Karimchi temples of heritage importance. First night halt at Pancheri Forests with rich flora and fauna on way to 2nd night halt at Lander, 3rd night halt at Sanasar a beautiful meadow with a lake in the centre and perched with Fur forests on all sides is also a hub for para-sailing.

Passing through Natha Top with barren hills and high velocity winds giving a varied experience to the trekkers, fifth night at the world famous tourist resort of Patnitop in thick Deodar forest; sixth night halt at Mantalai. Seventh day morning the trekkers transferred by bus to base camp Udhampur and disperse after evaluation and receiving certificates.

This trek is being organized under the active guidance of Mohd. Shafi Pandit, National President of the Youth Hostels Association of India.
