JAMMU: Minister of State for Education, Culture and Information Priya Sethi felicitated Vidushi Gupta who has topped in 12th examination with 97.6 percent marks in the Science stream, here on Thursday.
Senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi was also present on the occasion.
Vidushi has secured 488 marks and jointly shares the rank with another student.
Appreciating efforts of the student, Priya said Vidushi has made her parents and school proud by achieving top position in her stream, adding that girls have proven their mettle by shinning in every field and it is duty of the parents to give equal opportunities of study and growth to girl child.
Congratulating parents and the family members, Yudhvir said dedicated attention by the family and constant efforts of Vidushi have bore fruits. The exemplary performance of girls in the recent results is also very positive indication for the girl education in the state.
He said brilliant performance shown by the students is testimony of the talent in the region and all out efforts would be made to nurture and encourage the young talent.
The minister said focused attention is being given to the education sector and quality education is priority of the government. She said the role of private education institutes has been appreciable and they have contributed in providing quality education to the students.
