Protest over non-completion of flood-damaged SK Bridge

POONCH: Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Awami Party on Thursday held a protest in Poonch against authorities for not constructing Sher-i-Kashmir Bridge Poonch.
The workers of the party gathered at Krishan Chander Park Poonch and marched towards Deputy Commissioner Office. The protest march was led by Advocate Mohd Younis Chauhan Party President and Zorawar Singh Shahbaz Party General Secretary which passed through bus stand raising slogan against Coalition Government, for not constructing SK Bridge Poonch which is vital for the day to day activities and security, non-payment of compensation and rehabilitation of the people who had lost their houses, animals during Sep. 2014 disaster.
They also demanded compensation to the farmers whose land was damaged by flood and land slide in September.2014 disaster.
Later they held a Dharna in front of DC Office Poonch where Deputy Commissioner Poonch assured them that their demands are genuine and they will be taken care of immediately.
The prominent persons among those who were present in the protest include Mushtaq Ahmed Fani Party Secretary, Naseer Ahmed Qadri Advocate Sec., Jafreed Ahmed, Mohd Shafi Khatana Distt. President, Mohd Fareed Distt. General Secretary, Surjeet Singh, Yasar Arfat Youth leader, Mukhtar Ahmed and Mohd Khushal.
